A Velvety Smooth Cinnamon Valentine's Day Cocktail

Matt+Velvet+Fire

It’s been an especially snowy winter this year, and all I want to do is cozy up on the couch and enjoy a cocktail while I watch that snow fall. Going out for Valentine’s Day is probably my least favorite thing ever, so I’m glad it’s not even an option this year. When I worked at a restaurant for 8 years, it was one of the most dreaded days of the year. It’s not like a birthday or anniversary when it’s your special day. EVERYONE is there celebrating the same thing, and yet some people act like they were the only ones under the sun who it applied to. “But we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day!” “Of course you are, sir. You and the 400 other couples dressed in red who are paying a ridiculous premium for this prix-fix to squeeze into a tiny table for two.”

This year, per usual, it’s a Valentine’s Day at home with my own cocktails! I was really excited to partner with Disaronno and Jack Daniel’s when they told me about their new cocktail designed to celebrate love. These iconic spirits are coming together to create the Velvet Fire. It features smooth hints of toffee and apricot from Disaronno Velvet and warm cinnamon notes from Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire. It couldn’t be much more simple than this recipe, but it packs an ultra-smooth cinnamon kick. Keep scrolling to learn how to make it yourself.
